A Roman Camp in Switzerland by Colin Kraay
Colin Kraay has made several visits to the spot on which the Romans built their principal military base in Switzerland in about A.D. 15. Vindonissa was occupied by a military garrison for about eighty-five years, and from archaeological remains on the site it is possible to reconstruct a remarkably detailed impression of the social life of its inhabitants.
