One way to tackle under-development is by providing power for industry, agriculture, and communications. Water, often a destroyer, can be harnessed to provide electricity-as it has been in the Owen Falls hvdro-electric scheme in Uganda. But industry and communications may create human problems which work against development. In this programme the speakers discuss what power can do to speed up development, and how to avoid some past mistakes arising from industrialisation.
