Dorian Le Gallienne was born in Melbourne in 1915 and studied at the Melbourne University Conservatorium. where he has since held the post of Lecturer in Composition. Just before the war he studied at the Royal College of Music, London. and since the war has been working with Gordon Jacob. His Overture in E flat, which is receiving its first performance, was written last year.
