' Everything's a show nowadays,' says Mr. Odiham, and the show in this play is the public exposure — needless, as it turns out — of the private lives of a group of people who are called upon to assist investigations into the death of Colin Morecombe , found shot dead in his study. It is obviously a case of suicide, but there is no apparent motive. The representatives of the Law and the Press, though not without decent feeling, put their duty to the public before the anguish of the people involved. The production of a missing letter on which the case hangs gives a dramatic twis-t to the plot and reinforces Galsworthy's moral.

Appeal on behalf of Fatima House by Robert Speaight
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to [address removed]
For poor people today, old age too often brings JoneHness and a feeling of frustration. To help in remedying this, Fatima House, a home for aged men, has been started by the Congregation of the Sons of Divine Providence in co-operation with a secular committee. The home is run by the Fathers and Brothers of this Congregation, which was founded by Farher Louis Orione, who was born in 1872 and died only twelve years ago. Fatima House is a true home, bright, cheerful, and well furnished, and it receives old men of all denominations The appeal tonight is to reduce the mortgage on the house and help to pay for equipment.

'Cousin Henry': serial play from the novel by Trollope, adapted by Ross Cockrill-2..

BBC Home Service Welsh

by Anthony Trollope
Adapted for broadcasting in twelve episodes by H. Oldfield Box
Cast in order of speaking:
Produced by Archie Campbell
Frank Greystock, a rising young barrister and a Member of Parliament, is in love with Lucy Morris, a young lady of great sweetness and sincerity — and she with him. But Lucy is penniless, earning her own living as a governess; and Frank, ambitious, extravagant, and greatly in debt, decides to make a bid for the hand of his beautiful cousin Lizzie, widow of the wealthy Sir Florian Eustace.
Lizzie, in fact, is greedy, dishonest, and thoroughly self-centred. Having married the dying Sir Florian simply for his money, she is now threatened with legal action by the trustees of her baby son's estate because she refuses to surrender those valuable family jewels, the Eustace diamonds, lyingly declaring that her late husband had given them to her.
Feeling the need of a man to stand by her and perceiving Frank's intentions, she decides to accept him when he proposes.
