Africans and the Mining Industry
Talk by J. D. Rheinallt Jones
The mining industry in South Africa and the Rhodesias, more especially gold-mining, makes an important contribution to the economy of the sterling area as a whole. It requires labour, skilled and unskilled, in considerable numbers. J. D. Rheinallt Jones , who is an adviser to one of the largest mining concerns in the world and is President of the South African Institute of Race Relations, surveys some of the special problems involved in the recruitment, training, and employment of African workers.
