6-Pattern in Time by Eric Ashby D.sc, , Professor of Botany in the University of Manchester
Professor Ashby's talk is the last of* the ' New Frontiers ' series. He points out that each of the former talks has in turn dealt with systems of increasing complexity. First the comparatively simple electrons and mesons, then the more elaborate chemical compounds, enzymes, and genes. But a point that has hardly been touched on yet is that living cells and organisms have pattern in time as well as in space.
