Syd Carter , who recently gave a popular series of talks ' For Home Guards Only ', takes more than a tactical interest in the country scene. Living in the West Midlands. not far from ' Longford's Farm ', the scene of a current series of monthly broadcasts, his civilian work lies among the men of village and farm, and he is a great- lover and student of country life and character.
