Piano Trio in C, Op. 87 played by the Long-Kersey-White-head Trio
The second of Brahms's three piano trios, in C major, was written in 1882 and represents Brahms at his greatest. All but the closely woven finale are large-scale movements worked out with superb imagination and richness of detail, and in its emotional range the Trio is not far short of all-embracing : feelings of mystery, pathos, humour, passion, and exhilaration are evoked in this magnificent work.

An English Rhapsody : Brigg Fair....Delius Delius 's ' Brigg Fair' is based on the beautiful lilting melody of an old Lincolnshire folk song, the words of which tell the story of the simple and true love of a country lass and lad. He vows that should he prove false to her ' the green leaves they shall wither, and the branches they shall die The music sets out to evoke the emotions of the lovers and to give an impression of the quiet beauty of the countryside. It is in the form of a series of variations, which are characteristic of Delius's luscious, harmonic style and colourful orchestration
