Appeal on behalf of the Birmingham Accident Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Norman Tiptaft , J.P.
The Birmingham Accident Hospital, which gives a twenty-four hours' a day service for seven days a week, took over the Birmingham Queen's- Hospital in April 1941. The new venture is a voluntary undertaking which is governed by representatives of the Birmingham City Council, the University, the Trades Unions, and the employers. The special Rehabilitation Centre which is being- built with the help of local industry will ensure that in the case of industrial accident the injured party will be specially refiued to return to his particular work. The Surgeon-in-Chief of the hospital, who had a distin guished career in London, has now set up an organisation to provide for the succour of 60,000 accident cases a year.
