for the Sunday after Christmas from St. Chad's Roman Catholic Cathedral, Birmingham.
Celebrant, Canon Brian Withers assisted by Fr John Harrington and Fr. Anthony Brisland
Sermon by the Most Rev. Francis Joseph Grimshaw Archbishop of Birmingham
The Cathedral Choir directed by Fr. C. Barlow
Action of the Mass, described by Fr. Patrick McEnroe
Built in 1841, St. Chad's was the first Roman Catholic Cathedral to be consecrated since the Reformation. The grimy factories which for 150 years surrounded the Cathedral have now vanished, and it now stands at the heart of the new Birmingham rising around it, a link between the new and the old.
