Raymond Baxter reports from the Karolinska Hospital, Stockholm.

Why does a baby draw its first breath? Doctors are by no means certain, but tome babies experience difficulty, and this is now considered a major cause of Infant mortality during the first week of life. For this reason doctors are paying increasing attention to the first minutes of life.
Outside Broadcast cameras of Swedish Radio visit the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm to see how these studies are made on a new-born baby.
