Black and White Minstrel Show
On a visit to the 'Black and White Minstrel Show' a fortnight ago, we were struck by the happy team spirit that seemed to infect everyone connected with it - from the commissionaires at the door of the theatre, to the stars themselves.
'Yes, we all love doing the show,' said Stan Stennett. He had been doing some rather nifty work on the trumpet and guitar that night, so we asked him how many other musical instruments he played. 'Only the drums, the banjo, the harmonica, and the bones,' he replied modestly.
When he isn't working, Stan spends most of his time on his other passion - flying. He uses an aeroplane much as other people use a car, so that he can work at places as far apart as London and Blackpool, and still live in his beloved Wales. Tonight he'll be back again in London for another edition of the 'fastest show in television.'

A film series based on Sir Winston Churchill's Memoirs of World War II.

The Battle of the Atlantic and attacks by U-Boats menace Britain's life-line to America. The Hood engages with the Bismarck, but is lost, and the Prince of Wales breaks off the action. But the Ark Royal, with her torpedo planes, locates the damaged German battleship and wreaks vengeance. Roosevelt promises supplies to Britain and all aid short of war.
