The jungles of Trinidad are rich In animal life. When Peter Scott and his wife Philippa were there in the winter the hillsides were aflame with the vermilion blossoms of the Imortelle trees. He was particularly interested in the butterflies and other insects to be seen on the New York Zoological Society's Field Research Station at Simla and also in the birds, particularly the oil-bird.
