Roughly two-thirds of the earth's surface is covered with water. The water dissolves chemicals from the rocks and these chemicals are used to help build the bodies of animals that live in the water. The programme shows how the shells of myriads of sea creatures are built up in this way, and bow they in their turn help to change the earth's scenery.
