Hopalong Cassidy and 'Gabby' Hayes are given the job of finding horses for 'Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders'. Crooks try to discredit the friends by introducing branded horses among the wild ones. Hopalong foils the plan and is appointed Lieutenant in the Rough Riders.
