A new play by Denys Ives.
The action takes place during a summer afternoon at a guest-house in the south-west of England.

In a quiet West-Country guest-house there are only three visitors: an elderly widow; an equally elderly doctor who regards his fellow men as far worse than any germ he has seen under his microscope; and a young girl desperately in love but facing a two years' separation from her fiance.
These people, and the kindly soul who keeps the guest house, face a sudden crisis when a local bank is robbed. A young suspect who could charm a bird off a bough-and certainly a valuable necklace off a woman's neck-arrives in their midst. He has a provocative outlook which outrages their comfortable but differing philosophies.
In some tensely contrived scenes he proves the confusing proposition that everybody can be both right and wrong about everybody else at one and the same time. He leaves us, and them, wondering... Noel Wilkinson
