The Royal Academy's current exhibition of art chiefly from the Dominions of India and Pakistan, is the largest collection of Indian art ever seen in Europe and is a timely record of a unique and little-known tradition extending over four thousand years.
The programme introduces works of particular interest and shows the relationship between sculpture, the dance and music. Examples from the exhibition are shown by arrangement with the Royal Academy and the Government of India.
Those taking part include Mr. Ram Gopal, India's leading dancer, and members of his company. Musical arrangements are by Mrs. Dipali Nag. Dance Forms described by Mr. Michael Rouse and Sculptures introduced by Mr. K. de B. Codrington, Keeper of the Indian Section of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
