3/3. To mark the 20th anniversary of the death of flamboyant Polish-Italian-American pianist and entertainer Liberace (born Wladziu Valentino Liberace),
Russell Davies presents a celebration of the quintessentially camp fixture of 50s and 60s stage and screen who later emerged as a Las Vegas superstar and a restaurateur. Liberace always denied being homosexual despite certain seemingly obvious signs. In
February 1987 he died, aged 67, of Aids-related illnesses. Recalling the life of the sequined star are comedian Phyllis Diller , Liberace's designer/fur-maker, Anna Nateece , and his long-time manager's widow (Billie Heller ) and daughter (Liz Heller ). With input from tribute performer Wes Winters.
A generous cross-section of new, old, familiar and obscure records.
