Hollywood great Johnny Depp presents a profile of actor James Dean , who died, aged 24, at the wheel of a crashing Porsche 50 years ago this Friday, having completed a scant three films (East of Eden, Rebel without Cause and Giant). Demonstratively moody, tormented and sensitive, Dean's perceived persona caught fire with the first generation of rock 'n' rollers, influencing the likes of Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and John Lennon. Star contributors include Dennis Hopper, David Puttnam, Morrissey, David Bailey, Martin Landau, Bill Wyman and Paul McCartney. Producer Des Shaw
