New series 1/4. Bob Harris documents the story of the Noodstock era's most famous folk-rock act and one whose "supergroup" status derived from the band members' formidable pedigrees - David Crosby (the Byrds), Graham Nash (the Hollies), and Stephen Stills and Neil Young (the Buffalo Springfield). Their early-70s fame rested on merely two studio albums and a handful of genre-defining singles - Marrakesh Express, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, Teach Your Children, Our House and Ohio. The band's creamy, gentle and convincingly sincere sound captured the hippy spirit of the day. Young did not feature on the band's 1969 debut album. He left the group in 1974 but rejoined in the late 80s. Producer Matt Haywood
