Stuart Maconie hosts a live studio-based round-table discussion about the state of British music, with questions and comments from listeners, pundits and artists. Featuring specially recorded sessions from the biggest names in British music, as well as specially produced features and documentaries.
Listeners are also in control of the music featured on the programme and are invited to text-vote for songs they want to hear (the number will be given out on air). The evening kicks off with Paul Gambaccini presenting his personal review of the past 12 months in British music, and at 7.40 Zoe Ball follows the launch of new British singer/songwriter Lucie Silvas as she embarks on a career in the music business.
At 8.00 Radio 2's business correspondent Martin Shankleman dissects the key music-business stories of 2004.

New series 1/4. Folk singer Eliza Carthy charts the rise of British folk music from its revival in the 1960s to today's thriving scene. Among her guests are her parents -folk singers Martin Carthy and Norma Waterson , BBC Radio 2's folk show presenter Mike Harding ,
Kate Rusby , and the veteran political singer Roy Bailey. The series features music from Bob Dylan , Steeleye Span , the Pogues, Fairport Convention, Martin Carthy and Jim Moray.
