Nile Rodgers acknowledges the 40th anniversary of the signing of the American Civil Rights Act, which outlawed segregation. Tonight he tells how a split developed in the Civil Rights movement between followers of Martin Luther King 's philosophy of non-violence and those wanting a faster pace of change - using violence if necessary.
He also explores the rise of soul power, black power and the Black Panthers, the death of King, and the legacy of the Civil Rights movement.

Steve Van Zandt recalls the life and career of musician, composer and king of the Las Vegas lounges Louis Prima , who died in 1978, aged 68.
Prime Prima. Prima moved to
Hollywood in the 1940s and his shows attracted the stars and starlets of the era, including
Clark Gable , Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. His hit formula came together when he drew on his Italian-American roots. And as the big band era came to an end he recruited the young singer Keely Smith and they headed for Las Vegas. Producer Owen McFadden
