Roger Royle presents a special programme for
Pentecost from the Holy
Cross Church in the African township of Nyanga, Cape Town, South Africa. Joining the choir of Holy Cross are the choirs of St Mary
Magdalene, Guguletu; St Peter 's, Kyayalitscha; and the Langa Adult Choir. The hymns and songs are sung in the local language,
Xhosa, and include Spirit of Mercy, Truth and Love and traditional Pentecost choruses.

Michael Simkins, currently playing Philip in the BBC1 drama series Castles, has been a fan of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company ever since seeing them perform The Mikado as a 15-year-old in Brighton.
He looks back at the 100 or so years of the company's fortunes, playing excerpts from many of their recordings of Gilbert and Sullivan, with reminiscences from some of their greatest stars.
