A French opera comique by Francois-Andre Phllidor , a man equally famous as a grandmaster of the game of chess. Based on Henry
Fielding's novel, Tom Jones follows the progress of the hero's love for Sophia, daughter of the local squire. Obstacles appear but are eventually removed, provoking a happy conclusion to the love story.
Recorded this summer at the Drottningholm Festival in Sweden and sung in English.
