'the battling Dame,' fought the ridicule of the world at large and brought about the present-day acceptance of women as composers. The same age as Felicity, the leading character in Perfect Happiness, Caryl Churchill has so far written eight radio plays and had her first full-length stage play Owners produced at the Royal Court's Theatre Upstairs last year.
