Among younger poets there has been an increasing interest in working in folk clubs alongside singers and musicians. Many poets have drawn on the rhythms and tone of song to give impact and clarity to their words. At the same time. folk singers have deepened and strengthened their lyrics with a more complex kind of lighting akin to poetry. Audiences, predominantly of young people. have been quick to respond. Tonight's concert offers a sample of how the new mix can work.
