Having variety artist parents, Paul spent his youth travelling around the country with them, going backstage and breathing in tire atmosphere of the performing world.
He recalls, ' We didn't have mains electricity in our caravan, so I've been a radio listener for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is of my parents leaving me one night with the radio and an alarm clock. When the alarm went off I had to switch the radio on so I could hear my mother singing on a show.'
