'Here we are in 1981, dole queues get longer, the pound gets weaker as industry grinds down. The only growth areas are the old chestnuts, the army and the police. We've got to have law and order in a democracy, sure, but whose law and order do we get? Could it be the age old "law and order 22 or "keep them in their places" and kick them down if they protest - The biggest crime is to be a free-thinking individual. Don't talk to me about 1984, it's already got its roots firmly planted and the seed is growing.'
