Later in her career, the prominent feminist, communist, anti-racist and anti-fascist Sylvia Pankhurst campaigned on behalf of one of Africa's most autocratic monarchs.
Haile Selassie, for the restoration of Ethiopian independence after the Italian invasion of 1935, and also against British involvement in the country. When she died in Addis Ababa in 1960, she was given a state funeral. Her son, Dr Richard Pankhurst , recalls these events. Producer Ruth Evans
