When the gondola arrived to take Charles Catchpole to the Princess Malvezzi, he had no idea that it would deliver him into a world of romance and political intrigue. This play, which won Edward Petherbridge a Sony Award for his portrayal of Charles Catchpole , is repeated in memory of the playwright Michael Wall , who died earlier this year.
