Banjo Bwana
A portrait of a test cricketer turned banjo-playing missionary.
In the 30s C.T. Studd gave up test cricket for missionary work. In his 50s, and chronically sick, he literally hacked a path through the jungles of the Belgian Congo to evangelise the people. He demanded unswerving loyalty and sacrifice - which made him a hard taskmaster, even of his family. Andrew Green has talked to Studd's contemporaries. What emerges is a man of his time: sincere, devout, but also - some would say - fanatical and intolerant. Producer DAVID COOMES
