On Christmas Day 1950 the border between
England and Scotland was sealed for the first time in four centuries.
The police on both sides were hunting for four young Scots who broke into Westminster Abbey and carried off the Coronation Stone - the Stone of Scone.
The act outraged many but delighted others who saw it as a blow for
Scottish nationalism.
Thirty years on. Finlay J. MacDonald tells the story and reveals how the stone came to contain a secret message, eluded its hunter and was returned to Westminster.
