The Story of Robben Island Narrated by Paul Scofield and written by MARY BENSON
This small island, some seven miles to the north-west of Cape Town, has become as notorious as Devil's Island. Today it is the maximum security prison for South Africa's black male political prisoners. But for 300 years it was used by Dutch and British as a dumping ground for the ' undesirable ' or ' unwanted ' of all races.
