When 19-year-old newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst was kidnapped in 1974 by a group of terrorists calling themselves the Symbionese Liberation Army, it was plain that her life was in jeopardy. It was the first revolutionary kidnapping in the history of the USA. And when the trial of Patty Hearst began on 4 February of this year, the first time ever that a victim had been charged with aiding her kidnappers to rob a bank.
The story of Patty Hearst is one of the most intriguing of our age.
Included in the programme are the recorded voices of PATTY herself; the strange leader of the SLA - black, ex-convicted FIELD-MARSHAL CINQUE; her parents CATHERINE AND RANDOLPH HEARST ; and many others connected with what America has called the ' trial of the century.'
