A Victorian thriller by Patrick Hamilton adapted for radio and produced by Raymond Raikes with Barbara Jefford and Raymond Huntley
The play begins in the rather terrifying darkness of the late afternoon - the foggy hour as it were. before the dawn of gaslight and tea... The scene is a living-room on the first floor of a four-storied house in a gloomy and unfashionable quarter of London. The period is the latter part of the last century. (Broadcast in 1968)
