The Guests by MARGARET HARRIS
MURIEL: What is it, Miranda?
MIRANDA: Look - over there ... two men ploughing their way through the snow. They're coming this way. Who on earth can they be?
MURIEL: Oh, these snow drifts. They must be frozen.
MIRANDA: If there'd have been three of them we could have pretended they were the three kings, after all it is Christmas.

Gull Cottage. A charming let at an exceptionally reasonable rent. Its only snag is that it's haunted, but the ghost seems to be remarkably cheerful for someone who is supposed to have killed himself. Perhaps one could learn to live with such a ghost.
