A monologue for Remembrance Day, adapted from the poems and diary of Edward Thomas, who was killed on Easter Monday 1917 in the Battle of Arras with Ronald Pickup as Edward Thomas and Mary Wimbush as Helen Thomas.

The diary on which this programme is based was found in the pocket of Edward Thomas's uniform after he was killed: it has only recently come to light. Now all roads lead to France and heavy is the tread of the living; but the dead returning lightly dance...
