Heddle Nash became a legend in his own lifetime. Even today his records are still requested and sold, and fellow artists love to talk of him:
He had a voice that comes once in a century ... He was a very lovable man ... Arrogant, no, but he knew he was good ...
David Franklin , as a school-boy, watched Heddle's debut in 1925. Much later he worked with him as a fellow professional and counted him a friend.
He builds up a portrait of the famous tenor with the help of JOAN CROSS, CHARLES GROVES STANFORD
ROBINSON OWEN BRANNIGAN , ISOBEL BAILLIE and JOHN HEDDLE NASH
He completes the portrait with some examples of that incomparable voice - the voice of Heddle Nash.
