Peace in the Family of Man by THE RT. HON.
LESTER B. PEARSON
4: Co-operation through Economics
In the industrialised world there is a new supra-national phenomenon : the multinational corporation which works across national boundaries. What is the future of the Common Market? Is it sufficient defence against American financial take-over in Europe?
What can the developed countries do to speed progress in the unindustrialised world? The most promising approach is by co-operative development: a little trade is worth a great deal of ' aid.' Moreover, this is the field where international co-operation comes most easily.
