Live from Arromanches in Normandy, Huw Edwards introduces a day of special events to commemorate the 60th anniversary of D-Day. At 9.45, Normandy veterans march into the Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery in Bayeux for a service of remembrance to honour those who died during the Normandy campaign. The Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, Tony Blair and the French President Jacques Chirac join veterans and their family and friends for the ceremony, which includes the laying of a wreath at the Commonwealth War Memorial and the signing of the visitors' book.

Huw Edwards introduces live coverage of a commemorative ceremony overlooking the Normandy beaches, featuring heads of state from 17 nations, including the Queen, Jacques Chirac, US president George Bush and - for the first time at a D-Day event - Germany's Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
At 2.30, a march by veterans past their respective leaders is followed by the presentation of the Legion d'Honneur and an address by President Chirac. Plus military displays from the Red Arrows and the Patrouille de France, a naval review and fly-past, archive film of the Second World War, and a tribute by the Prince of Wales to the airborne forces of D-Day.
At 5.00, a parade by British ex-servicemen through the town of Arromanches is followed by the Queen's address.
