The first of tonight's two-part live programme, presented by Anne Robinson and Phillip Schofield, which sets out to assess the nation's Intelligence Quotient. The test, which can be taken on the internet, via digital television, a scorecard or, most simply, with a pen and paper, uses 70 specially designed questions to examine five intelligence areas - language, memory, logic, numbers and perception.
Each question has four possible answers to choose from and a prescribed time-limit. As viewers take the test at home, six groups - identical twins, builders, teachers, blondes, publicans and students - answer the same questions live in the studio, where they are joined by ten celebrity participants.
The results from the studio and those taking part on the internet will help to determine the current state of the nation's IQ.
Continues after the news at 10.05pm.
