HRH The Prince of Wales, Patron of the Royal Anthropological Institute presents Face Values with people from Bali, Brazil, California, Malta, Tanzania and Britain.

When Oo-un-yun, a Brazilian Indian, killed a jaguar the entire village of Kretire prepared for a ceremony to give the power of the animal to the boys and celebrate man's triumph over nature. In Perthshire, a village unites to carry on an ancient tradition: taking flaming torches around the town on New Year's Eve. The Rev Fr Dun Karm spends a lot of time preparing the religious processions of Naxxar village. In Malta, Easter, especially Good Friday, is the crowning glory of the villagers' ritual year.
