I Production by Josephine Plummer
Quite a lot has happened since last time. Paul has started bell-ringing, Jane has begun her dancing classes, and Angus his pet club. The bell-ringing is going quite well, though rather slowly. Jane's dancing classes are going to be a great success-she has only held two so far, and already has twenty-three pupils. Angus is enjoying his pet club-but whether the other members are too is rather a moot point. At the first meeting there was a dog-fight and two mice escaped. Not Angus's," thank goodness!

Some thoughts on the interpretation of seventeenth-century history by C. V. Wedgwood
C. V. Wedgwood, whose recently published book The King's Peace deals with the years leading up to the English Civil War, considers in this talk how great a part is played in the study of history by our experiences of the present, and suggests some reasons why it may be easier to understand the seventeenth century now than it was in the past.
