Legendary two Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux Jr and Masterchef dining expert Gregg Wallace are once again joined by formidable chef Monica Galetti as they begin their search for a professional with the talent to become Britain's next culinary superstar.

In the first heat, ten chefs from kitchens all over Britain begin this year's competition. Monica and Gregg have set them two challenging tests where they must prove they have the necessary skills and palate to cook for Michel Roux Jr. Across two episodes, they will face an invention test and a skills test, with only the most skilful going through to cook for Michel.

In the ivention test, the ten chefs must make one dish using a selection of just seven ingredients including squid, gurnard, apples and raisins. They have just one hour to hold their nerve and show off their skill, palate, and creativity. The pressure is on to serve up a dish that proves to eagle-eyed Monica and Gregg that they deserve their place in competition.

For now, they are all safe but tomorrow night five of these ten chefs must return and face their final test before Monica and Gregg decide who will cook for culinary giant Michel Roux Jr. Show less
