Second of two talks on political attitudes in independent Africa
Ϯ by ALi A. MAZRUI
Lecturer in Political Science, Makerere University College, Uganda
The speaker considers that the political ideas of the new Africa are forced to make their international début in old-fashioned dress-in the limited vocabulary which developed in opposition to colonialism. Does this mean that the ideas are outmoded He makes a plea for a more perceptive assessment by other nations of African fears of ' neo-colonialism ' and of the desire for * non-alignment.'
