Ostensibly, it contrasts with a former time of prosperity, a village's later experience of drought and famine, which results in the meeting of a general council at the court of the King. Can the 1,000,000 French-speaking Europeans be given, and will they accept, effective guarantees under which they could live in an independent Algeria?
