Reflections on John Aubrey
Talk by Oliver Lawson Dick
John Aubrey was an eminent seventeenth-century historian, and author of one of the most amusing, malicious, and valuable biographical collections in the English language. The 250th anniversary of his death occurred this year. Oliver Lawson Dick has just completed a new edition of Aubrey's ' Brief Lives ' and has reviewed the evidence on his life and personality. This talk is the third contribution to the series on English scholars
