Part 1: Carthage. The Escape
Part 2: Ephesus. The Encounter Part 3: Bithynia. The End
The second great war between the two Mediterranean powers, Carthage and Rome, found Carthage defeated but with her general, Hannibal, still master of every field, except for his single encounter with his Roman counterpart. Scipio. He was only in his forties-alert, confident, at the height of his powers. The story of the post-war years of this great soldier is one of the most enthralling subjects in history, and though the present treatment is poetic and dramatic it does not need to stray far from the pages of Livy, historian of the Punic Wars
