from Siloh Chapel, Aberystwyth Charles Clements , who is a native of Aberystwyth, gained the A.R.C.O. diploma at the age of eighteen, and the F.R.C.O. twelve months later. On both occasions he received the Lafontaine First Prize which is awarded to the candidate receiving the highest number of marks for organ playing. He took his Mus.Bac. in 1923. In 1919, he was appointed assistant to Sir Walford Davies at the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth, Later, he became Assistant Lecturer at, Aberystwyth under Dr. de Lloyd. Welsh listeners are familiar with Mr. Clements as pianist, as organist, and as the conductor of the Aberystwyth Madrigal Singers.
