TOM WILLIAMS (baritone) from the Gorse Hall, Swansea The Ystradgynlais Public Prize Band, formed in 1925, is composed of sons of miners who live in the village of Ystradgynlais It has been remarkably successful. In 1927 it won eight first prizes, and it has continued to win numerous cups and trophies every year since then. The Band has been successful at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and also at the Crystal Palace Festival.
